Internet Buying and selling can be a bit daunting at the best of times, particularly where it is unlikely that the buyer and seller will ever meet.
We have taken the time to try and introduce ourselves as best possible to our customers, we are a young company to the internet, but an old established family business that has been trading for over 30 years in Portugal. Our stone is sourced from the quarries near the Arrabida Mountain in Portugal 25 kilometres South of Lisbon as all our products are designed and made in Portugal we do not keep a stock range in the UK, because storage premises are so expensive in the UK we decided to sell direct thus cutting out a large expense, which in turn makes a huge saving as we can afford to sell our products for less than we would do otherwise we decided to try and make ourselves as ‘available’ for our customers as we can by introducing our on-line chat service so now we would like to tell you a little bit about how we got started before we introduce your team.
How It All Began
Uk_Stoneage was ‘born’ Virgilio came to England and met Rosie on the Internet and decided to come to Brighton, where a working partnership was born.
After being in Brighton for a couple of years and helping Rosie with her e-Bay page (Inchighprivateye) Virgilio asked Jose, (his brother-in-law who is a fully trained Stone Mason for over 30 years in Portugal) if he wanted to try and sell on line. As Jose is the designer and maker of our products, it seemed like a good idea and so Uk_Stoneage was born.
Meet The Team:
Virgilio: Technical Sales, Web Design
Rosie: General Sales & Enquiries
Custodio: (Virgil’s son) Technician. As the newest member of the team Custodio is now learning how to fix fire surrounds, worktops (as he has discovered that his skills do not lie in IT or Web Design) and is also practising hard to learn to drive.
Location
Uk_Stoneage is located in Devizes Wiltshire, the majority of our stock is based in Portugal and shipped directly to it also means that buyers must be prepared to wait a short (two to tree weeks) time for delivery of purchase.
Fireplaces / Surrounds
We design Fireplace surrounds, from the traditional to the contemporary, our fireplaces will really ‘be the heart of the home’ not only guaranteed to look elegant and distinctive, but they can also be designed to fit into any of today’s more compact living spaces. In the living room or the bedroom, you will be glad you chose one of our surrounds.
We can alter any of the fire surrounds that are shown on our page if you want to keep your original fire; all you have to do is give us the exact dimensions for the insert cut. If you want the model we show but wider, higher, with a longer length on the hearth a larger mantle, the same model in a different stone or a combination of stones* we can do all of this and we will not* charge you one penny extra for this service.
If you don’t like any of our models but have one in mind you would like made for you, we will not take offence! Just send a picture or have a chat and we will make it for you.
* We only charge extra if a combination of stone is required ie: marble and granite in a fire surround/table that is made of limestone or extreme oversize modifications.
Tables / Shelf Units
Made from Granite, Marble, Limestone or a combination of each stone, all our tables are designed to be elegant with a sense of purpose, we can offer a wide range of tables from the coffee, dining, garden / patio to the boardroom. Our customers can be assured that each table is of a unique design that will not be found in any of the High Street shops.
We can alter any of the tables that are shown on our page if you would like the model shown made bigger, smaller, wider, change the style of the base, made with a different stone or a combination of stones* we can even etch your logo / design / motif onto the top of the table*
* We only charge extra if a combination of stone is required ie: marble and granite in a table that is made of limestone.
*A small charge is made to etch designs, logos or motifs.
Work-tops / Kitchen Counters
From the breakfast bar to the traditional work surface, we have an extensive range of Granites that are extremely durable, and will withstand any amount of wear. There is no better stone than Granite to keep dirt at bay, easy to clean and very low maintenance with an added assurance that you are buying a top quality stone. If you are upgrading your kitchen, having a re-fit or if you are looking to sell your home, having granite worktops / counters in your kitchen will sell your home for you.
We think that our granite speaks for itself; we can provide a different depth of granite other than the European standard, if you are undecided as to the colour of granite, we will be happy to help you with a colour scheme.
Our Service To You
Every listed item in our shop can be bought either as it is in the picture with the dimensions given, or you can take up our unique bespoke offer of having it altered to suit you.
Our Guarantee
1. The granite tiles / worktops / fireplaces sold by Uk_Stoneage, unlike products that are sold in large D I Y. home stores are made from natural stone; we can guarantee that there is no stone residue/mix/micro fibres in any of our products, we only deal with natural stone products.
2. The price you see is the price you pay, there are no hidden charges and V.A.T. is included in the sale price.
3. We will keep you advised (at all times) of delivery times, from your item leaving Portugal, your item’s arrival in the UK and finally your item’s delivery date to your door, our communications are another service that we are proud of.
4. All products are made from solid blocks of stone, due to the nature of our business we do not deal with Liquidated Stock, Product Over-runs this means we don’t have a ‘fast turnover’ but, you have a fabulous hand crafted product.
5. We offer a unique service to you: you can contact us before, during or after the sale. We have an on-line chat service that is operated until late at night, or if you prefer you can contact us by land-line telephone or mobile we are happy to accept calls/mails from customers old and new.
6.We only trade our products on line, (unless copied) are not on sale in any newspaper ‘for sale’ section or any trade magazine.
7. We want your business! In the unlikely event of any thing going wrong with your item, all we ask is you contact us immediately.
